A real metal dragon charm that kids can turn into a pendant, attach to a backpack or carry in their pocket to remind themselves that they have the courage to stand up for what they know is right. It comes attached to a standard-sized teaching card that explains the value of courage and invites kids to reach inside for theirs.
On the front it says:
It takes courage to stand up for what you believe – to be honest, forgiving, hopeful, serene, loyal and kind when the people around you are not. Carry this with you to remind yourself that you have the strength to be brave.
On the back it says:
It is curious that physical courage should be so common in the world and moral courage so rare. — Mark Twain
Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. —Ralph Waldo Emerson
Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees the others. — Aristotle
Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. — Dale Carnegie
Be not idle, but active and fear not…. — ‘Abdu’l-Bahá
These are priced in bulk so you can give them out by the score at events, parties and children’s classes.
The dragon has a loop at the top for hanging on a chain or a string. As a craft activity, you can teach kids how to braid a cord to hang it from.
The dragon is about 1.12 X 1.25″ in size. It is stapled to the card, so be careful not to poke yourself when you remove it. Not for children under 3.
Here’s an idea! My niece just ordered a bunch as gifts for a baby shower for babies born in the year of the dragon (for the guests, not the babies).
The card, which includes the picture of the dragon, is also available without the charm at an even lower price.
