The Kindness Pledge
I pledge to myself, on this day.
To try to be kind, in every way.
To every person, big and small,
I will help them if they fall.
When I love myself and others too:
That is the best that I can do!
My new children (that’s a story for another time) just started the school across the street. This school is a shining example of the school we wish all children could attend. The principal and staff are respectful, kind and caring to every child. The children in turn are respectful, well-behaved and kind to each other. It is a joy every morning to walk them into the building and see so many happy faces greeting one another. Each morning the big kids get on the big kid buses where they are taken to either the middle or the high school. The younger kids grab a bite to eat if they like and then make their way to their classrooms. An older child is chosen each morning to go to the principals office. The lucky child uses the school intercom to lead the school in reciting both the pledge of allegiance and in the kindness pledge. I am so charmed at the environment this school has created. In celebration of World Kindness Day on Nov 13th, I want to share the pledge with you.
Oh, and every order next week gets five free Seize Kindness buttons.Â
